                  MY FAVOURITE BOOK.

            Daddy buys plenty of books for me because he knows I love reading. Once he bought for me the retold version of the Ramayana for children. I enjoyed reading it very much. Since then, I have read it many times. This book is indeed my favourite.

            I feel very sad when Lord Rama is exiled to the forest for fourteen years. But then there he shows true courage. He faces many hardships. He fights against evil men and demons and protects the holy men living in the forest. Finally he wages a war against King Ravana of Lanka. I feel thrilled when Lord Rama emerges victorious in the end.

            Hanuman and his vanar sena also fascinate me. Hanuman's devotion to Lord Rama is amazing. I have learnt many values from the story that I will never forget.

                       TEACHERS Day             The ability to "Transfer" knowledge to a class of students is left in the capable hands of a teacher. The teacher is a guide and mentor to the child irrespective of caste, creed or colour.              A special day, September 5 is dedicated to teachers, in honour of our late President, Dr S Radhakrishnan,who was a great scholar and reputed for his teaching skills.              Dr Radhakrishnan earned the respect of his students because of his kind and gentle ways. He was a man of great character. His dress code was impeccable which undoubtedly sent a message not only to children but also to all who came in contact with him. Favourite festival Diwali (dipawali)

      Festival of lights                ESSAY ON DIWALI FESTIVAL          As we know that DIWALI is a festival of lights. Many people come together to celebrate this festival. The religious significance of the festival goes back to the day when Rama returned to Ayodhya after being in exile for fourteen years. He returned after slaying Ravana, the evil king of  demons, who had kept Rama and Sita his wife, and his brother Lakshman captive. In South India it is believed that Lord Krishna killed the evil Narkasura and brought peace on earth.             The tradition of lighting up the house with diyas or candles and today even electric bulbs goes back to this when the whole of Ayodhya was lit up to welcome Rama,Sita and Lakshman.
